A Night of Empowerment: Celebrating Women's Achievements at Warwick Castle
The recent International Women’s Day celebration held at the breathtaking Warwick Castle marked a significant occasion organized by the Ladies First Professional Development Network Group. This year's theme, 'Give to Gain,' was vividly brought to life in an evening filled with inspirational stories and the celebration of women's achievements.

The event featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Chief Superintendent of The West Midlands Police, Kim Madill, and retired Coventry MP, Colleen Fletcher MBE, who shared their personal journeys, delivering powerful insights that resonated with attendees. Hosted by broadcaster Arti Halai, the evening's essence was to celebrate the accomplishments of women while inspiring the next generation of female leaders.
Tracey McAtamney, Director of Ladies First, emphasized the significance of community and collaboration. "The evening honoured the achievements of women while inspiring the leaders of tomorrow," she said. Notably, the event raised funds for The Esther Project, which supports vulnerable women, reminding everyone present of the profound impact that collective efforts can have on creating meaningful change.
Support for Women in Need
The Esther Project's phenomenal work was showcased, highlighting its dedication to assisting women facing domestic abuse, addiction recovery, and homelessness. In the past year alone, the initiative has helped over 70 women in Warwickshire, providing vital services such as counseling and supported living arrangements. Founder Lianne Kirkman shared, "Community support like this makes a real difference," underscoring the importance of every contribution made during the evening.
The extraordinary engagement from attendees, coupled with the £860 raised, exemplified the spirit of generosity that can transform lives. As women connected over personal narratives and shared the space in solidarity, the event left an impactful reminder of their strength and potential.
A Special Surprise and More
The evening concluded with a delightful surprise for attendee Anita Dinnes, who won a £1,800 diamond necklace in the evening's raffle, courtesy of Rafayel Diamonds. Additionally, guests contributed to The Shine Together Initiative by donating old hairbrushes to support women's shelters and local centers, reinforcing the theme of giving back.
