Bolton's Exciting Wellness Run Day Promises Community Fun!
On September 26, Cutacre Country Park in Bolton will host the inaugural Wellness Run Day 2026, an event designed to unite families, schools, businesses, and runners of all capabilities. This gathering aims to foster health, wellness, and community spirit through its array of activities.
An Event for Everyone
The Wellness Run Day features a family-friendly 1K fun run and a chip-timed 5K race, welcoming participants from novice runners to seasoned athletes. The organizers aim to create a vibrant atmosphere that not only promotes physical activity but also offers a fantastic experience for all attendees.
More Than Just a Race
Event organizer Steve Hague emphasizes that the goal of the day goes beyond the races themselves. "We wanted to create more than just a race," he stated, highlighting the importance of community engagement and encouraging healthier lifestyles. The event will also feature live music, food and refreshments, raffles, and various community activities, ensuring there is something for everyone.
A Special Day Out
Every participant will receive a finisher's medal, with gold medals awarded to the top racers, further adding to the day's excitement. Local businesses, schools, and community groups are encouraged to participate as part of a broader workplace and community well-being initiative, making this event a collective effort.
Looking Ahead
This year's event marks the beginning of what organizers hope will become an annual tradition. "If the public engages with it, we will be doing this annually," Hague expressed, looking forward to building a strong foundation for future community gatherings focused on health and wellness.
