Lio was soon joined by American Airlines pilot Luis Kapost, who provided critical support. Kapost, recognizing that Cundiff was struggling with the weight of the half-submerged stroller, threw him one arm of his Chicago Cubs jacket, helping to keep Cundiff afloat during the chaotic moments.
