Celebrating the Inspiring Women Leaders Shaping the Future

The recent Women Leaders Awards 2026 has marked a significant milestone in acknowledging the contributions of inspirational women across Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Northamptonshire. Held at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Stadium MK on July 16, the event celebrated remarkable achievements in leadership, innovation, and community impact, positioning these women as catalysts for change in our society.

A Landmark Year for the Awards

This year’s awards were particularly noteworthy due to the expansion of their reach and the record nominations received. With an unprecedented 180 submissions across 14 categories, the awards aimed to spotlight the diverse talent within the community. Judges praised the quality of the nominations, specifically highlighting the Outstanding Contribution Award, which alone attracted 11 nominations, showcasing the high caliber of women making a difference.

Introducing Lasting Recognition

A new addition to this year’s ceremony was the Confidence Star, created by motivational speaker Ife Thomas. This initiative was designed to serve as a constant reminder of each finalist’s accomplishments, encouraging them to foster self-belief beyond the awards. Dr. Julie Mills OBE DL, Chair of Women Leaders, expressed enthusiasm over the expanded scope of the awards, emphasizing the profound impact of sharing these women’s stories.

Support Beyond the Ceremony

The event also underscored the growing dedication of the regional business community to empower women in leadership roles. Headline sponsor Hillier Hopkins, along with other partners, provided unique awards that included opportunities for leadership coaching, mentoring, and networking experiences. Julie Mills highlighted that Women Leaders is not just a one-night celebration; it is a commitment to nurturing women's growth throughout their careers.

As the Women Leaders Awards continue to inspire and uplift individuals in the region, they pave the way for an enhanced community, celebrating and fostering leadership among women across various sectors. The commitment to supporting these women goes beyond recognition—it establishes a supportive ecosystem that benefits both individuals and the broader community.
