City Comes Alive with Positive Messages from Young Artist
In an inspiring display of community spirit, Neriyah-Faith Spencer has brightened the streets of Wolverhampton with her handwritten posters featuring uplifting messages. Phrases like ‘you are amazing’ and ‘you are stronger than you think’ are now delighting residents, commuters, and visitors in the city.
A Heartfelt Initiative
Recognizing the impact of her cheerful messages, the City of Wolverhampton Council reached out to Neriyah's family with an offer to create a more permanent platform for her artwork. This collaboration has allowed her positive sentiments to be displayed on the walls of Chesterton Road, strategically placed off the Cannock Road for maximum visibility.
A Joyful Experience for all
Neriyah expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m so happy that my messages are on the walls for everyone to see. I just wanted to make people smile and feel happy.” Her father, Daniel, echoed her sentiments with pride, emphasizing her intention to uplift those who might be struggling. “I’m really grateful to the council for working with us and helping her spread that positivity in such a supportive way,” he said.
The Power of Kindness
Councillor Stephen Simkins, Leader of the City of Wolverhampton Council, praised the project as a reflection of the power of kindness and community. He remarked, “Neriyah’s messages are simple, honest, and full of heart. These displays are a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”
The council aims for these displays to not only brighten people’s days but also to inspire further acts of kindness throughout the community, making Wolverhampton a better place for all.
