Dalmellington Primary School Achieves Outstanding Success and Recognition!
Dalmellington Primary School and Early Childhood Centre is buzzing with joy after achieving remarkable results in their recent inspection by Education Scotland. This week-long inspection highlighted the school’s strong commitment to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for its students. The inspectors noted the presence of 'respectful, responsible, and happy children' who are not only engaged in their learning but also confident in sharing their achievements.
Gold: Rights Respecting Award from UNICEF
In a double celebration, just after the school's commendable inspection report was released, they received the prestigious Gold: Rights Respecting Award from UNICEF. This accolade recognizes schools that ensure children's rights are embedded within their ethos and curriculum, demonstrating a deep commitment to educating students about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The school is one of only 11 primary schools in East Ayrshire to have achieved this notable distinction. An assessment carried out by UNICEF concluded that the children and the wider school community have a profound understanding of their rights and how these principles affect their lives.
