A Joyful Selection of Premieres
This year's season will launch with two exciting premieres. "Outlaws: A Robin Hood Story," a fresh, feel-good interpretation of the beloved British legend by playwright Kieran Lynn, promises to captivate audiences from July 3 to August 23. Alongside this, Helen Redcliffe’s uplifting drama "Let The Sun Shine!" will also grace the stage, enriching the summer lineup from July 10 to August 23.
These productions will feature a talented cast, including David Ahmad portraying King John and Arthur, and Annabelle Aquino as Marian/Cloud. The involvement of seasoned actors highlights the high-quality performances that audiences can expect this summer.
Family Fun with Peter Pan and More
The season caters to families with a special presentation of "Peter Pan," scheduled from July 28 to August 13. This interactive walkabout show will engage children under eight alongside their families, bringing classic characters like Peter Pan, Wendy, and Tinkerbell to life in a magical adventure.
Additionally, the Olivier Award-winning play "Nell Gwynn" will be staged, showcasing the collaboration between Grosvenor Park, Shakespeare North Playhouse, and Theatre by the Lake in a historic co-production. Directed by Bryony Shanahan, this production, featuring Rose Shalloo in the title role, runs from August 21 to September 6, promising to add to the season's charm.
A Festival of Food and Fun
The festivities extend beyond the stage, with the festival site featuring a popular tepee bar and a diverse selection of food, craft beers, and frozen cocktails. The Street Food Weekend on June 27 and 28 will kick off the season with live music and free entry, an invitation for the community to come together.
