Empowering Future Leaders: Exciting Workshops and Honorees at RIT
This spring, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is set to engage its community with inspiring workshops led by alumna Krystle Ellis, the esteemed Minett Professor for the 2025-2026 academic year. Known as "The Culture Broker," Ellis aims to foster curiosity and personal growth among students, faculty, and staff through a series of dynamic sessions.
Workshop Opportunities for Personal Development
Ellis's workshops include "Loving Conflict," scheduled for February 24th, where participants will learn to approach conflicts with curiosity, rather than fear. This session will be followed by "So What’s Next for Me?" on March 24th, which focuses on executing personal vision and goals. The series concludes with "Is Entrepreneurship Really for Me?" on April 29th, providing insights into the entrepreneurial journey. Each session is limited to 30 participants, emphasizing the personalized nature of these workshops.
Celebrating Community Contributions
In addition to these enriching workshops, RIT is proud to celebrate Taj Smith, who will be honored at Xavier University for his impactful leadership in promoting diversity. His recognition at the 50th Antonio Johnson Scholarship Gala validates his dedication to the Black campus community and his previous role as the director of the THRIVE Center at RIT.
Smith's commitment continues as he embarks on a two-year term with RIT's University Advisory Committee on Gender Related Experience (UACGRE) and a three-year term as a community member on the Pittsford School District's Planning Team, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to education and inclusivity.
Farewell and Best Wishes
This announcement also marks a bittersweet moment as we bid farewell to Alexandria Collins, who is moving on after five years of dedicated service in the Center for Engagement and Student Success. Her transition to a school counselor at Greece Central School District is a testament to her commitment to supporting students and making a positive impact on their lives.
As RIT continues to support and celebrate its community members through development opportunities and recognition, it embodies a spirit of growth and resilience, preparing future leaders for success.
