Empowering Women: A Night of Inspiration and Support at Warwick Castle

The recent International Women’s Day event at Warwick Castle, organized by the Ladies First Professional Development Network, was a resounding success, celebrating women's achievements and fostering a spirit of solidarity. The evening, adorned in purple to honor the occasion’s theme of ‘Give to Gain,’ showcased inspiring personal stories from a lineup of remarkable speakers, including Chief Superintendent Kim Madill and journalist Suzanne Virdee.

Tracey McAtamney, the Director of Ladies First, emphasized the profound impact of collaboration among women to drive change. The evening’s charitable focus was on supporting The Esther Project, which plays a crucial role in aiding women in need throughout the Warwickshire area.

Impactful Contributions and Community Support

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the event raised significant funds for The Esther Project, which has been instrumental in empowering women who are recovering from domestic abuse, addiction, or facing homelessness. In the past year, the project has successfully supported over 70 women, providing essential services such as counselling, community meals, and vital training courses. Founder Lianne Kirkman noted, “Community support like this makes a real difference,” highlighting how every contribution aids their mission of creating safe spaces for women to rebuild their lives.

A Memorable Evening of Giving

Event attendees were treated to a surprise raffle, with Anita Dinnes winning a stunning £1,800 diamond necklace, making the night even more memorable. The evening not only fostered an atmosphere of support and inspiration but also encouraged guests to participate in donating old hairbrushes to The Shine Together Initiative, further solidifying the commitment to uplifting women in shelters and local centers.
