Excitement Builds for Manchester's Upcoming Comedy Festival

As the calendar marks the arrival of May, anticipation is mounting for a delightful weekend filled with laughter at the A Lovely Weekend comedy festival in Manchester. Scheduled to take place from May 29 to 31 at the Fairfield Social Club, this highly anticipated event promises a vibrant atmosphere and an impressive lineup of comedic talent.

A Star-Studded Line-Up

This year's festival will feature more than 20 shows over three days, showcasing some of the most talented comedians from various backgrounds. Among the performers are Harriet Kemsley from the hit series Last One Laughing UK, and Mark Silcox from BBC’s Man Like Mobeen. Bringing even more excitement to the lineup is Scottish comedian Larry Dean, who is making waves after being announced for the cast of Saturday Night Live UK.

A Unique Experience Awaits

Not only will attendees enjoy established comedians, but they'll also have the opportunity to witness 'work in progress' shows. This means festival-goers will get a sneak peek of new material before it hits future tours, adding an element of exclusivity to their experience. In addition to the big names, up-and-coming talents such as Ayo Adenekan, Freya Parker, and Sean McLoughlin will also take the stage, ensuring a diverse range of performances for all comedy lovers.

Community and Support

The festival is produced by John Stansfield and Chris Cantrill of A Lovely Time, who aim to create a sense of community through comedy. With support from Found and the alcohol-free brewery BRULO, this event not only brings joy to the audience but also shines a spotlight on the Red Bank neighborhood, which is rapidly gaining recognition for its cultural offerings.

John Stansfield expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s going to be a heck of a lovely time and, speaking personally, it’s my favourite weekend of the year!” This sentiment is echoed by Gemma Price, Managing Director of Found, who highlighted the festival's potential to attract new visitors to the area.

Tickets for A Lovely Weekend can be purchased individually or as full weekend passes. This event stands as a testament to Manchester's thriving comedy scene and promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
