Exciting Feel Good Festival Set to Brighten Exeter
The vibrant city of Exeter is gearing up for its much-anticipated Feel Good Festival, a heartening event dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing in the community. Scheduled for Saturday, 16 May, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Wonford Community and Learning Centre and Wonford Playing Fields, this festival promises a wealth of engaging activities for individuals of all ages.
A Celebration of Community and Wellbeing
Organized by the local community group Wonford Health Matters in collaboration with the Wonford Community and Learning Centre, the festival aims to foster connections among residents while emphasizing the importance of physical and mental health. Thanks to a generous £900 grant from the City Council, attendees can enjoy a range of free activities, making this a truly accessible event.
Activities and Highlights
Festival-goers will have the opportunity to participate in guided walks, exercise classes, face painting, and even enjoy a bouncy castle. Football sessions led by City Community Trust will add to the festive spirit, while live dance and singing performances will entertain audiences throughout the day. Unique workshops, including a Double Elephant Print Workshop, invite creativity and provide a platform for participants to learn new skills.
Promoting Wellbeing
Wonford Health Matters offers a holistic approach to wellness, highlighting the five ways to wellbeing: connect, keep active, learn/create, give, and take notice. The festival is designed not only as a fun outing but also as an educational experience, providing information and advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Organizers encourage all attendees to engage with the activities and services available, creating an atmosphere of positivity and support.
This collaborative initiative highlights the significant impact of local events on community cohesion and wellbeing. With free food and drink offered alongside numerous activities, the Feel Good Festival epitomizes the spirit of togetherness and promotes a healthier, happier community for everyone.
