Exciting Milestone: Devon School Selected as a Lead School for National Programme
Cranbrook Education Campus (CEC), part of the Ted Wragg Trust, has been celebrated for its commitment to fostering positive learning environments as it has been selected as a Lead School for the Department for Education’s national Attendance and Behaviour Hubs programme.
Support for Schools Across the Region
This recognition allows CEC to extend its expertise in enhancing attendance and strengthening behaviour cultures to other schools across the South West and beyond. Stephen Farmer, head of campus at CEC, emphasized the institution's philosophy that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported to succeed. He noted that this designation is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the staff, pupils, and families in fostering a culture of belonging and ambition.
Enhancing Education Through Collaboration
As a designated hub, CEC is set to provide one-on-one support for school leaders and will host open days and professional learning events. This initiative aims to help schools establish environments where students feel a strong sense of belonging. Additionally, CEC will assist other institutions in utilizing data to identify and tackle challenges early on.
A Broader Impact on Education
The overarching goal of this programme is to support hundreds of schools that are most in need, with aspirations to expand its reach in the future. Moira Marder, CEO of the Ted Wragg Trust, remarked that the selection reflects Cranbrook’s inclusive and thoughtful approach to managing behaviour and attendance, founded on the principles of strong relationships, clarity, and care. She expressed optimism that this initiative will enable more children to feel connected to their schools and prepared to learn.
A Commitment to Inclusion and Safety
The hub status awarded to CEC underscores its consistent dedication to providing a safe, calm, and welcoming environment for pupils of all ages. This achievement makes CEC the third school in the Ted Wragg Trust to receive such recognition, reinforcing the trust's mission to cultivate an inclusive educational experience.
