Exciting New Child Care Facility Set to Open in Bend!

In a significant development for early childhood education, Sprouts Montessori of Bend has secured a substantial grant of $719,200 to establish a new licenced child care facility for infants and toddlers. Titled The Orchard Infant Nest, this initiative aims to cater to the growing needs of families in the area, particularly those with children aged 6 weeks to 24 months.

State Support Fuels Expansion

This funding comes from the Child Care Infrastructure Fund, which is administered by Business Oregon and made possible through lottery-backed bonds authorized by the Oregon Legislature in 2023. This initiative is part of a broader $50 million statewide investment focused on enhancing child care facilities across Oregon.

Comprehensive Care and Nutrition

Sharon Richardson, the owner of Montessori of Bend, expressed her gratitude for the support, recognizing the importance of expanding their programs. The new facility is notably designed to accommodate 24 infants and toddlers, with plans to provide three meals and two snacks daily, ensuring a nutritious and nurturing environment for children.

A Unique Educational Experience

The Orchard Infant Nest will function as a Spanish immersion program, offering families an alternative educational approach. With flexible hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the facility aims to meet the varying schedules of Central Oregon families, further enhancing accessibility to quality child care.

With an opening scheduled for later this spring, families interested can find more information and tentative rate sheets by visiting the Montessori website or contacting them directly. The Orchard Infant Nest represents a bright new chapter for child care in Bend, promising to enrich the lives of young children through quality education and care.
