Exciting New Corridor to Transform Travel Between Haryana and Uttar Pradesh

In a transformative move for commuters in the National Capital Region, the Haryana government is progressing with an ambitious project to establish a new Namo Bharat and Metro corridor connecting Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. This development is set to significantly enhance connectivity and travel efficiency across these key cities.

The Project Overview

The proposed 63-km-long corridor is designed to include both Namo Bharat bus services and Metro train services, effectively reducing travel times and improving access for residents. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has completed a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and submitted it for government approval. Once authorized, this project will provide a total of 22 stations, comprising 15 Metro stations and 7 Namo Bharat stations.

Key Stations and Connections

Strategically developed stations are planned throughout the corridor. In Gurugram, three Namo Bharat stations will be established, including locations at Sector 61, Sector 58 Chowk, and Gwal Pahari. Faridabad will also feature three Namo Bharat stations at Sainik Colony, Bata Chowk, and the Sector 87-88 Chowk. Meanwhile, in Greater Noida, two stations will be placed in Noida Sector 142 and Sector 168 Chowk, enhancing options for commuters.

Interchange Capabilities

A significant aspect of this corridor is the interchange station to be created at IFFCO Chowk, which will allow seamless transfers between the Gurugram-Greater Noida corridor and the planned Sarai Kale Khan-Bawal Namo Bharat route. This connectivity boost stands to streamline travel throughout the densely populated region.

Economic Impact and Future Prospects

Estimated to cost around Rs 19,390 crore, the project represents a substantial investment aimed at facilitating daily commutes among hundreds of thousands of residents across Rewari, Dharuhera, Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. Once the corridor is built, it is expected to ease traffic congestion and provide a reliable, efficient alternative to the existing road travel methods.

The Haryana government is set to solicit feedback on the DPR from various stakeholders, ensuring that the community's voices are heard as the project moves forward. This initiative is a testament to the commitment towards improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents in the National Capital Region.
