Exciting News for Vaishno Devi Pilgrims: Special Train Services Introduced!

In a positive turn of events for devotees planning to visit Vaishno Devi, especially on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya, the Jammu railway division has announced the introduction of a special train between Katra and Haridwar. This initiative, approved by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, aims to enhance travel convenience for pilgrims hailing from various regions including Kathua and Hiranagar.

A Convenient Travel Solution

The introduction of the special train service is intended to significantly reduce congestion during one of the busiest pilgrimage times of the year. Train number 04606 will commence its journey from Katra at 6:15 PM on June 14, arriving in Haridwar at 6:30 AM the following morning. For those returning, train number 04605 will depart from Haridwar at 5:20 PM on June 15, ensuring that pilgrims can enjoy their spiritual journey more comfortably and efficiently.

Comprehensive Travel Experience

This special train will feature a 16-coach rake that includes general, sleeper, AC three-tier, and AC two-tier accommodations, catering to diverse passenger needs. With halts at significant stations along the route such as Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, and Roorkee, it allows pilgrims to board conveniently from various locations.

The arrival of such services not only reflects the government's commitment to facilitating religious tourism but also signifies a broader effort to embrace the needs of the pilgrimage community. The special train is expected to bring relief to both locals and out-of-towners visiting the sacred site, enriching their overall experience and making it more accessible.
