Get Ready to Laugh: Hull's Upcoming Production of "The Odd Couple"

This weekend, Hull’s own Mark Reed will shine on stage as he takes on the role of Oscar Madison in Ture Repertory Theatre’s rendition of Neil Simon's classic comedy, "The Odd Couple." The production, celebrating its 25th anniversary season, promises a hearty dose of laughter as it portrays the antics of two mismatched roommates: the neat-freak Felix Unger and the slovenly Oscar Madison.

A Perfect Retreat from Winter Blues

Artistic Director Donald Sheehan highlighted the joy this play brings, stating, “We are having so much fun with this play. Sometimes theatre provides an escape for its audience, and ‘The Odd Couple’ is the perfect retreat.” The play is scheduled to run from March 6-15 at the Beal House, located at 222 Main Street, Kingston, making it an ideal outing for those looking to banish the winter blues.

Supporting Local Talent

The production not only features Hull’s Reed but also showcases a diverse cast from across the South Shore, including the director Victoria Bond, who also appears on stage as Gertrude, and a brilliant array of local talents. General admission tickets are affordably priced at $25, and $22 for seniors and students, available both at the door and through Zeffy.

Celebrating Academic Excellence and Community Contributions

In addition to the vibrant theatre scene, Hull celebrates academic excellence with students like Fallon Ryan making the Dean's List at Merrimack College. Moreover, local initiatives such as the Nantasket-Hull Rotary Club meeting on March 4 highlight the community spirit, featuring Jean Liben’s inspiring project to create dresses for underprivileged children around the globe.

These highlights from Hull reflect a community that thrives not only on artistic endeavors but also on academic achievements and philanthropic efforts. As we anticipate the laughter from "The Odd Couple," we are reminded of the importance of community engagement and support in all its forms.
