Inspiring Acts of Faith and Redemption from Louisiana Reach Haiti
This Easter weekend marked a momentous occasion for Louisiana Reach Haiti (LRH), an orphan care ministry, as it celebrated the baptism of four residents, symbolizing their spiritual rebirth and commitment to Christ. Conducted in collaboration with the Baptist Church of the Disciples, this joint baptism event not only underscored the significance of faith but also illustrated the unwavering support provided by the ministry to the youth in its care.
A Joyous Baptism Celebration
The baptism ceremony held on April 4 was particularly special, as it represented the first time LRH baptized four individuals simultaneously in one service. The attendees, which included the LRH president Darrin Badon and various staff members, witnessed the culmination of years of dedication to these young individuals. Badon expressed gratitude for those who contributed to their spiritual journey, as the baptisms symbolized a transformative passage from their old lives to new beginnings under the teachings of Christ.
Fostering Future Independence
As the four teens have now aged out of the Children’s Village, LRH has provided them with a new living arrangement focused on personal and vocational development. They have transitioned into a home that will serve as the New Life Academy, a vocational school aimed at equipping Haitian youth with essential skills to foster self-sufficiency. Badon emphasized the organization’s dual commitment: to reunify children with families wherever possible while simultaneously developing mature, independent adults.
Rescue and Transformation
Alongside the baptisms, LRH celebrated another significant achievement: the rescue of a 14-year-old girl from conditions of forced labor. Having endured five years of hardship, her liberation represents a beacon of hope for many in similar situations. Badon noted the remarkable transformation evident in her life, characterizing her recovery journey as a testament to divine intervention and the compassionate outreach of the ministry. Daily, the young girl experiences newfound love and care, illustrating the impact of LRH’s mission.

Since its inception, Louisiana Reach Haiti has evolved from its foundation in 2015, but the mission remains unwavering—to provide lasting change through faith and community empowerment. The challenges posed by local instability have prompted strategic shifts, including relocating services and leadership to ensure safety while continuing to serve those in need.
