Leicester's Eid Festival: A Vibrant Celebration of Community and Joy

This past weekend, Leicester welcomed back its much-anticipated Eid Festival, a joyous occasion that brought families together in celebration and unity. Held in Victoria Park from March 20 to March 22, the event, organized by Leicester Community Assist, transformed the park into a bustling hub of merriment.

The three-day event was filled with exciting activities, including fairground rides, inflatable attractions, and a plethora of food stalls. Families from all over the county gathered to enjoy the festivities, with the atmosphere buzzing with laughter and joy. One attendee, Mohammed Bilal, expressed his delight at the festival, noting the safety of the environment for families. After facing financial challenges in previous years, the festival has finally managed to break even, which Aziz described as a positive development. Anjun Saqid, a dedicated volunteer, echoed the importance of the event, stating that its continuation showcases the unity of the community. The favorable weather this year undoubtedly contributed to a high turnout, with estimates suggesting around 30,000 attendees over the three days.
