Liverpool to Host Historic Inclusive Sport & Culture Festival in 2027

In a monumental move for inclusivity and cultural celebration, Liverpool is set to host the first-ever Inclusive Sport & Culture Festival (ISCF) from May 2-8, 2027. This groundbreaking event will spotlight elite athletes from the Paralympics alongside a stellar lineup of disabled-led arts and culture programs, all converging on the city's vibrant waterfront.

A Hub of Creativity and Performance

Taking place at prime venues including the M&S Bank Arena and the Exhibition Centre, the festival will transform Liverpool into an energetic hub, showcasing international sports competitions in Boccia, Para Athletics, Wheelchair Rugby, and Paracanoe. Each sport promises to deliver a unique spectacle, fostering a sense of community and excellence.

Empowering Artists and Athletes

The festival will feature an Athletes’ and Artists’ Village, serving as a communal hub that celebrates identity, connection, and shared experiences. This initiative aims to illuminate the visibility of disabled talent and enhance athlete preparation ahead of the LA 2028 Paralympic Games.

Strong Support and Vision

With funding from the National Lottery and Arts Council England, the ISCF promises to be a trailblazing event. Emma Wiggs MBE, five-time Paralympic Medallist, highlights the festival's role in promoting diversity and its potential to set global standards in inclusivity. Meanwhile, Darren Henley, Chief Executive of Arts Council England, emphasizes the festival's importance in showcasing the exceptional talent of disabled artists and athletes, aiming to inspire future generations.

A Lasting Legacy

Collaboration is at the heart of this festival, with support from UK Sport, ParalympicsGB, and Liverpool City Council. The ISCF is poised to create a lasting legacy that bridges the gap between sport and culture, impacting both local and national communities positively. As Liverpool prepares for this historic event, the stage is set for a week filled with inspiration, creativity, and above all, unity.
