Local Hero Shines a Light on Charitable Causes with Exciting Fundraiser
In an inspiring display of community spirit, Sherylann Thompson is set to host a 2000s themed fundraiser in Prestwick. This event, taking place tomorrow night, aims to raise funds for two vital local charities: South Ayrshire Women’s Aid and Megan’s Space. Through her initiative, Sherylann seeks to spread a message of hope and empowerment.
A Personal Journey of Healing
Sherylann's commitment to these causes is deeply personal. Having benefited from the support of Women’s Aid during her own challenging times, she was inspired to give back. In her own words, “I have been an attendee at Women’s Aid twice in my life, and they got me in touch with Megan’s Space.” This connection has played a crucial role in her healing journey, helping her gain insight into her trauma and the confidence to share her story publicly.
Encouraging Community Involvement
Sherylann's previous events have garnered positive feedback. At her Galentines charity event, she organized activities that encouraged women to love themselves as much as they care for others. Her platform, Healing, Growing, Understanding, continues to serve as a space for her to document her ongoing struggles with hypermobility and chronic pain, along with her achievements.
The Event Details
With her enthusiasm and dedication, Sherylann has already raised over £1,000 for the charities as part of her quest linked to the Miss GB Ayrshire pageant. The upcoming fundraiser will not only provide an entertaining night with a nostalgic 2000s theme but also feature speakers from the charities, who will articulate the importance of their missions and how the contributions will support their ongoing work.
The event kicks off at 6 PM at the Bellrock in Prestwick. Tickets can be booked by emailing sherylann_@hotmail.co.uk. This gathering promises to be a night of fun, camaraderie, and support for vital community causes, showcasing the power of local heroes dedicated to making a difference.
