Ramsbottom School Unites Community with Thriving Farmers' Market

In an inspiring display of community spirit and environmental awareness, St Andrew's CE Primary School in Ramsbottom recently hosted a successful farmers' market event, initiated by a devoted parent. Louise Barron, who also serves as a Food for Life Programme Officer, motivated the students to create a platform for sustainable products and local produce.

Engaging Students and Local Businesses

The initiative saw school ambassadors and eco warriors take the lead, designing promotional posters crafted from recycled materials to advertise the market. They prepared an array of sustainable products to sell, including seed bombs and sow and grow kits. Local businesses such as Park Farm and Summerseat Garden Centre generously contributed by donating fresh produce, enhancing the event's community-driven ethos.

Throughout the half-term, students and staff dedicating their time to nurture herbs and plants, which were sold during the market. The commitment to wellbeing continued as the entire school community came together to bake healthy treats, utilizing recipes shared with parents, further emphasizing the importance of healthy eating.
