Recognizing Community Heroes: The Wainwright Achievement Award Nominations Open!

Kendal Town Council is on the lookout for individuals, groups, and organizations that are making a significant positive impact in their community. The annual Wainwright Achievement Award is now accepting nominations, celebrating those who go above and beyond for the town of Kendal.

Honoring Exceptional Contributions

This prestigious award is open to anyone who has enhanced the community's reputation, improved the wellbeing of its residents, or delivered meaningful community benefits. The award, which excludes political entities, aims to recognize the unsung heroes whose efforts often go unnoticed.

How to Nominate

Mayor of Kendal, Cllr Richard Sutton, encourages residents to participate in this rewarding initiative. He stated, “We encourage residents to put forward those whose dedication, creativity, or community spirit deserves recognition.” Nominations can be submitted via a form that residents can obtain from the Kendal Town Council website or by contacting them directly.

A Rewarding Experience

The winner of the Wainwright Achievement Award will be honored with a £250 prize, which will be presented by the Mayor of Kendal in May 2026. This recognition not only brings a monetary reward but also highlights the invaluable contributions of individuals and groups to the community.

Get Involved!

Residents are urged to think about the positive influences in their lives and consider nominating a deserving candidate by the deadline of March 20. This is a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of those who contribute to making Kendal a better place.
