Revitalized Cattery Welcomes Feline Friends Back After Major Refurbishment
The owners of Snuggles Cattery in Carlisle have expressed their joy following the successful reopening of their business after a comprehensive refurbishment. Steven and Lorraine Langstaff, who have managed the cattery since 2012, embarked on a transformative journey to elevate their establishment to a higher standard of quality and service.
A Vision for Improvement
After years of dedicated service, the Langstaffs planned the major overhaul for eight months before closing their business in November 2025. The refurbishment, which took two months to complete, involved significant structural updates and aesthetic enhancements. “We stripped back to brick and rebuilt the cattery to a higher spec and quality,” they shared with enthusiasm.
Community-Focused Renovation
One of the standout aspects of their overhaul was the couple's commitment to supporting local businesses. By sourcing materials and services from nearby suppliers, they not only minimized costs but also reinforced community ties. Local suppliers like Cumbria Building Supplies and Window Shop played a pivotal role in the refurbishment process.
Looking Forward to New Beginnings
The revitalized cattery boasts enhanced cleanliness, improved lighting, and a more inviting atmosphere for the cats. As they welcome back familiar customers and new furry guests, the Langstaffs are eager to continue setting high standards of care. “We have missed the cats and customers enormously,” they remarked, expressing their fervent anticipation for the future.
As the couple looks ahead, they have plans for ongoing investments in the cattery, signifying their commitment not only to the business but also to the beloved animals in their care. Their story is a testament to the resilience and passion that drive small business owners to create a better experience for their clients and community.
