In a groundbreaking initiative, the English government has unveiled a transformative 25-year farming plan that promises to redefine the agricultural landscape of the nation. Dubbed the "Farming Roadmap 2050: Growing England’s Future," this plan is touted as a monumental step for English farming, being described as “the most significant moment for English agriculture since the Second World War.”

One of the most striking outcomes of this initiative is the recognition of the agricultural sector's contribution to the national economy, which is expected to rise to a remarkable 6.1%, up from a mere 0.6%. This dramatic increase highlights agriculture’s vital role, predicting that 1 in every 10 workers will be employed within the agri-food sector, positioning it as one of the country’s largest employers.

The roadmap stems from the 'Batters Review,' conducted by Baroness Minette Batters, which proposed 57 recommendations to enhance profitability in English farming.
