Revolutionary Urine-Fueled Forest Project Set to Bloom in Wales

By utilizing urine from events including Boomtown festival and Bristol Pride, this venture addresses both sustainability and the reduction of sewage waste.

Lucy Bell-Reeves, product manager and co-founder of NPK Recovery, highlights the urgency of this project given the rising costs of imported synthetic fertilizers due to geopolitical tensions. “Urine is a resource that we have in abundance, so it really is a win-win here,” she stated, emphasizing the potential for this natural fertilizer to create 'fertilizer security' for local farmers and growers.

In collaboration with the Welsh nonprofit Stump up for Trees, NPK Recovery aims to deliver an impactful solution by planting thousands of native trees.
