Revolutionizing Brewing: Fierce Beer Launches Initiative to Combat Deforestation
Award-winning Scottish brewery Fierce Beer is making headlines with its recent announcement of a national retail listing with Sainsbury’s. This collaboration marks the launch of the Fierce for Good Foundation, a new social and environmental initiative set to coincide with the brewery's 10th anniversary in 2026.
A Toast to Nature
The initiative kicks off on April 12, 2026, with the rollout of “This IPA Plants Trees,” a premium 6.2% Hazy IPA. True to its name, a portion of the profits from each sale will be directed to national woodland restoration projects and the protection of native forests across the UK. By partnering with Sainsbury’s—known for its commitment to woodland conservation—Fierce Beer ensures that every purchase contributes to significant biodiversity efforts.
A Commitment to Positive Change
The Fierce for Good Foundation embodies a commitment from the Aberdeen-based brewery to harness its growth for positive societal impact. The foundation will support various causes, from local community efforts to extensive environmental restoration and social wellbeing programs. According to Dave Grant, Managing Director of Fierce Beer, the goal is clear: as their production expands, so too will their positive influence on communities and the environment.
Community-Driven Decisions
Governed by a diverse internal steering committee made up of employees from various sectors of the business—brewing, bars, sales, and marketing—the Foundation aims to make funding decisions that reflect the needs of the communities where Fierce staff live. Despite not being a registered charity, it operates under a charter of transparency, ensuring accountability and trust in its mission.
“Our vision is simple,” Grant stated. “We want to help create a world where business plays its part in lasting positive change: one beer, one community, and one project at a time.” This initiative not only fulfills Fierce’s mission to create flavorful craft beer but also provides consumers with a unique opportunity to positively impact UK reforestation efforts through their everyday shopping habits.
