Stonehaven's Midsummer Beer Happening: A Celebration of Community and Charity

The upcoming Midsummer Beer Happening in Stonehaven is set to combine an appreciation for craft brewing with a commitment to supporting local charities. Organised by local beer enthusiasts, the Midsummer Beer Happening aims to benefit around 20 local charities, including key beneficiaries such as the Stonehaven Sea Cadets and Stonehaven Men’s Shed. This not-for-profit event reflects the spirit of giving back to the community that has made it a staple in the region since its inception as the Stonehaven Real Ale Festival in 2009. In total, the festival has raised an impressive £428,000 for local good causes over the years.

Festival manager Robert Lindsay emphasizes the dual goal of the event: to create a joyful atmosphere for visitors while leaving a lasting legacy for the people of Stonehaven. The funds raised will go towards organizations that support the youth, provide care for the vulnerable, and enhance the cultural appeal of the town.

Attendees can look forward to sampling over 120 beers from celebrated breweries across Scotland and Belgium, alongside a diverse range of award-winning street food options. The festival will also feature performances from talented local musicians, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

A Sporting Addition

In a unique addition, this year's event will incorporate a cycling sportive, with multiple courses designed for fitness enthusiasts. After a challenging ride, participants can unwind with a refreshing drink as they soak up the atmosphere of the Happening.
