The Midsummer Beer Happening: A Celebration of Craft Brewing and Community Spirit

The much-anticipated Midsummer Beer Happening is set to take place in Stonehaven this June, promising a weekend filled with exceptional brews, delicious food, and vibrant musical performances. Supporting Local Charities

This year, the festival will benefit around 20 local charities and organizations, including the Stonehaven Sea Cadets, Stonehaven Men’s Shed, and the renowned Fireballs Ceremony. Robert Lindsay, the festival’s manager, emphasizes that the Happening is not just about enjoying great beer; it’s about creating a legacy that fosters community well-being and provides essential support to those in need. Since its inception in 2009, the event has raised an impressive £428,000 for various local causes.

A Festival for Everyone

Set within a purpose-built marquee in Baird Park from June 11 to 13, the Happening will welcome around 6,000 visitors eager to experience over 120 unique beers from Scottish and Belgian breweries. Along with the exceptional beer, festival-goers can indulge in a variety of street food offerings, ranging from traditional fish and chips to spicy Indian cuisine.

Music and Community Engagement

The cultural richness of the event will be enhanced by live performances from talented local musicians, spanning genres from mellow jazz to energetic rock. Additionally, a cycling sportive on Saturday will invite fitness enthusiasts to challenge themselves before savoring the delicious offerings of the festival.
