As the holiday season drew to a close, The Standard restaurant in Toledo decided to honor their dedicated employees with an unforgettable surprise: a three-day cruise to the Bahamas. Owners Jeff Dinnebeil and Megan Lingsweiler recognized that their team of cooks, servers, and hosts are essential to the success of their business, dubbing them the “lifeblood” of The Standard.

Inspired by a family cruise experience, the couple chose to reward their staff for their hard work and commitment. The cruise aboard Royal Caribbean brought together team members and even a few loyal customers, creating a unique environment where colleagues transformed into family. Andrew Jackson, one of the cooks, expressed the sentiment felt by many when he remarked, “Everybody went on there as employees, and when we left and went back home, everybody was like family.”
