Unlocking Creativity: North Yorkshire Pupils Engage in Exciting Storytelling Workshops

In an inspiring initiative, crime writer Rachael Blok is leading immersive storytelling workshops for pupils across North Yorkshire, aiming to ignite their creativity and imagination. These innovative Wild Foundations CSI Workshops are being conducted in six schools throughout Harrogate and Knaresborough, allowing children to create characters and craft their own narratives.

Honoring a Legacy of Curiosity and Creativity

This program is part of the broader Wild Foundations initiative, which was founded in memory of Victor Wild, a prominent figure associated with Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate. Jonathan Wild, part of Wild Foundations, emphasizes the importance of this project: "Wild Foundations is our way of honouring our father's legacy - not just as a polymath, but as someone who believed deeply in the power of curiosity and creativity." The workshops are designed to empower young minds, giving them the tools they need to express themselves.

Hands-On Learning and Fun

Targeting children aged nine to 12, the workshops are set to take place at various schools, including Aspin Park Academy and New Park Primary Academy. Sharon Canavar, the chief executive of Harrogate International Festivals, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "We are passionate about encouraging children to engage with stories and books, and there’s no better way of doing it than through exciting, interactive sessions like this where they’re learning and having fun at the same time."
