Unstoppable Women Over 60 Take the DJ Stage by Storm!

The world of music is often perceived as the domain of the young, but a remarkable group of female DJs, all over the age of 60, are challenging this notion and proving that age is just a number. Known as Forever Fresh, these inspiring women are bringing new energy to the DJ scene, and their journey began at a pop festival in Cologne, Germany.

A New Opportunity for Older Women

The initiative was sparked when C/O Festival's Pia Leohart recognized a gap in their lineup for women over 60. After brainstorming with her team, they sent out a call to older women interested in learning the art of DJing, and the response was overwhelming. Some participants had never even used a computer before, yet they eagerly embraced the challenge.

Learning and Thriving

Under the guidance of instructors like DJ Sedaction, these women learned how to master mixing, transitions, and the intricate workings of audio equipment. The excitement of stepping out of their comfort zone ignited a passion, with participants expressing that such challenges were essential for their personal growth and happiness.

Inspiring Performances

The group’s oldest member, DJ Miss Crazy Irma, at the vibrant age of 90, exemplifies this spirit as she takes to the stage with exuberance, using a walker in her daily life but moving with vitality during performances. Her energy, along with the diverse playlist featuring hits from David Guetta, Pink, and Abba, creates an electrifying atmosphere that captivates audiences of all ages.

With seven successful gigs under their belt since forming in April 2025, the Forever Fresh DJs have garnered a following that exceeds their own expectations. Uschi Ophir, the group’s youngest member at 64, noted the surprising turnout of younger attendees, which showcased a beautiful intergenerational exchange through music and dance.
