Community Focus and Participation

Readers are encouraged to actively participate by voting to crown the winner through a vote slip included in each newspaper edition. This not only fosters community engagement but also underscores the importance of local businesses in enhancing the well-being and confidence of residents.

According to Press editor Nigel Burton, “York is a city full of talented hairdressers who do an incredible job in making people feel good about themselves.” This initiative is a testament to the community spirit and the appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship in hairdressing.

Looking Back at Previous Winners

Last year's title of Best Hairdresser was awarded to Haircut One Hundred in Foxwood, and owner Ann Taylor expressed her gratitude, saying, “I can’t believe it, it’s amazing... We've got a fantastic team and wonderful clients, I feel very fortunate.” Her words resonate with the joy and pride that such recognition brings to local businesses.

As this year's competition unfolds, there is much anticipation to see which salon will take home the coveted title, further inspiring the talent and creativity that thrives in York's hairdressing industry.
